May 12 to May 18

Sunday May 12
Mother’s Day. Went for breakfast but Lou and Carmel didn’t show? After we went for a drive and stopped at The Cottage Gardener for some Sweet Pea seeds. They weren’t open but sold us the seeds anyway. We then headed to Port Hope. Stopped at a Dollar type store and bought some craft supplies, cards etc. Then downtown and John got some more Cod liver oil and Malt. The Bargain Store was closing and we bought a few things there. Went to the Butter tart bakery in Cobourg and got 4 tarts and went to Gayle and Diana’s for tea. Home around 3:30. The weather was terrible. We went through, snow squalls, ice pellets, rain and sun. Temp varied from 2°C to 8°C. Sharon sent an email and Christopher phoned to wish me Happy Mother’s Day.
Monday May 13
Taylor’s 14th birthday. Sun shine but still cool high 10° C. Had coffee at BH. Staying in the Kitchen with the doors to the rest of the house closed as we have turned the furnace off.
Tuesday May 14
Work as usual. Had lunch at BH. John and I went for coffee afterwards.
Wednesday May 15
Work again. Very quiet day. Meghan’s cat is not doing well.
Thursday May 16
Meghan had to put Boo down today :( Weather was nice but very windy. Got some laundry done and started emptying the shelves in the middle bedroom. Went for coffee, John has his regular Lion’s meeting tonight.
Friday May 17
Two weeks to go! Had lunch as usual.
Saturday May 18
Norwood garage sales mostly bought books and got a 6-drawer set of plastic drawers. We cooked two lasagne for the Lions and met the Deens at the spaghetti supper. Afterward John and Jack did a lot of clean up and then Jack and Nancy joined us for a drink at our house. A very nice evening.
